These are specially selected preamp/front end sets are designed to get the most out of your amplifier. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your amplifier. The valves have been specifically chosen as to their sound characteristics and function. We have kits such as Low gain, This to give the maximum clean headroom, Medium gain, to give a little more clarity in your sound, Standard gain, to give you a warm and fat overdrive and High gain to give you maximum over drive with the lowest noise. So you can the best set to suit your playing style.
These Pre amp revalve kits are gain rated to help you get the sound that you are looking for. The number in the title indicates the gain reduction that you will receive when putting the valve in the V1 position. So our Low gain 55 kit will give you a 55% gain reduction when the 6072a is fitted in place of the 12AX7 and so on. Our Vintage kit uses a modern valve that is the closest sounding to original General Electric valves that were used by Fender, The Classic Retro Kit is a set that is based on the closet sounding valve to the original Mullards. These kit use valves have been specially chosen for their sound characteristic. They are specially position matched as to their function in your amplifier. They are selected for gain, triode balance, low noise and microphonics.
