Svetlana valves are different for the Original Svetlana AKA Winged C that were made by made by the JSC Svetlana Company that owned and operated the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia. Watford Valves were one of the largest suppliers of Original Svetlana Winged C until the factories closure in 2012. We have always referred the original Svetlana products as Svetlana winged C

The Svetlana Electron Devices brand name was bought by New Sensor in 2001. JSC sued New Sensor over the use of the name. In 2003, both parties signed an agreement giving New Sensor the exclusive right to the use of Svetlana Electron Devices name and giving JSC the exclusive right to use the winged-C logo.

Until recently it was not possible for us to offer Svetlana valves manufactured at the New Sensor owned Xpo-Pul factory which is known as Reflektor in Saratov, Russia.

So In order that you are clear about what you are purchasing we have defined the New Svetlana Valves as Svetlana Reflector. We have done this as companies selling Svetlana valve do not make the distinction clear enough.

Watford Valves were trading prior to 2001 and dealt with all parties concerned. Some companies making claims to know what happed during this time were not even trading at this time. Which is why you can trust Watford valves and why we have made the further distinction.
These are reissue Svetlana EL34 Reflector made at Xpo-Pul factory also known as Reflector in Saratov, Russia. This Reflector made Svetlana EL34 is a faithful re-issue of the original design and construction of the famous winged C EL34.

The Winged C Svetlana was the HI Fi EL34 of choice and won worldwide acclaim as the best post Mullard EL34 for Audio. The Reflector Svetlana reissue shares all of the same improvements of the Winged C.

The construction uses the same laminated alloy for the plate construction which helps heat transfer under overload conditions as the original. Gold plated molybdenum alloy control grid and graphite coated screen grid to reduce secondary emission. It had the same internal bracing and thick grade glass for long life of the original winged C.

In audio applications the valve has all the balance and clarity that you had with the Original. It maintains the originals smooth top end response. The Svetlana winged C EL34 is also one of the best sounding audio EL34 that we have come across and the reissue maintains the originals legacy.

In Guitar applications these valves deliver incredible crunch making them perfect for that Jimmy page through to Hendrix Van Halen sound. The midrange is very pronounced with high end definition think of Van Halen track Eruption. The cut of this valve is superb and it will never got lost in the mix.

What I really like is the sustain and the way the valve lightly compresses the top end under distortion. This gives a warm clarity to your guitar solos. The balance in the bass end is also near perfect as tight and clear without any over extension

An American customer and user of these Reflector made EL34 said Derek these are a kick ass tube in Marshalls. I need an EL34 that has that freight train midrange punch and high end clarity for rock music I play and have not found a better tube than the Svetlana EL34.
