The Sovtek EL84 has been the industry standard go to EL84 for over 25 years. This is valve has been used as their own brand by Mesa Boogie, Peavey, Vox and by Fender. Indeed Groove Tubes use this as the EL84-R as well as a whole host of major Audio amplifier manufacturers.

The reason its superb sound quality and proven reliability record. The Sovtek EL84 provides a smooth warm sound with excellent distortion characteristics.

In clean playing application the Sovtek EL84 produces one of the cleanest sounds with excellent balance. The midrange is full and well balanced but what sets the Sovtek apart is that it has the bass end has the most clarity and slam making chord sound fuller and more rounded.

In overdriven mode the Sovtek EL84 excels as it has a punchy tone and is very easy to overdrive providing that crunchy on the edge break up with a wonderfully round tone.

When run into distortion the valve produces a full and smooth overdrive tone and handles boost signals from pedals extremely well with no fizziness.
