This STR Harma Rec KT66 Relic Cryo Full Upgrade Kit is designed to give you the legendary KT66 Marshall rock guitar tone.
Many guitarists have found the dramatic effect cryogenic treatment has on the way the valve performs not only in clean applications but also when overdriven. The cryogenic process removes the harshness from the valves tone and the imaging has more focus and bite. It has a warmer sound which is pleasing to listen to, providing a clear and crisp musical distortion. In short, many musicians, engineers and audiophiles have found that by using cryogenically treated valves it is a proven way of obtaining NOS sound quality with a great difference, an affordable price!
The Harma ECC83 STR Cryo has exceptional note clarify with improved definition on the clean tone and extra bite and rich harmonics when overdriven. The Cryo treatment also improves the valves overdriven characteristics by providing a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics.
The REC KT66 Relic Cryo is a meticulous recreation of the famous GEC Osram KT66 and follows the original military specification KT66/CV1075.
The REC KT66 Relic Cryo has a number of special features such as a gold plated grid wire with carbonized screen grids. The valve has a thick glass envelope with a welded anode plate to prevent microphonics and rattle. The anode plate uses a laminated alloy which helps heat transfer under overload conditions. The grids of the valves use gold grid wire and the grid rods are made from copper which is the best materials to use. The valve uses GEC Style Dual ring getter which are located at the bottom following the original design. GEC Style Grey welded anode plate, GEC Style Dual Horizontal anode slots. These valves are all specially burnt in and selected to the same current specifications and current range of the Original GEC KT66 CV 1075. The valves then go through our burst testing process.
The REC KT66 Relic Cryo is as close as you can get to the original British made GEC KT66 in terms of look and performance. No other KT66 on the market today gets this close
These are simply the right valves to power this Marshall especially if you want to recreate Clapton's Famous Bluesbreaker sound and take the governors amps back to its sonic roots.
