Here we have listed our most common upgrades giving you the opportunity to enjoy a valve and speaker upgrade at a greatly reduced cost.
Special Offer 10% DiscountThe Fender Blues Junior fitted with a set of Harma STR E84L and Celestion G12H 55 Hz Low resonance speaker is our most popular upgrade for this amp.
It supplies the classic vintage American rock sound with that all important British crunch when overdriven. It is an effective upgrade over the stock speaker as it provides tighter deeper bass and removes the harsh sizzle that is found in the Jensen C12N. This will suit the player who needs versatility so you can go from clean to Blues and then to a classic AC/DC style crunch
The Harma ECC83 STR is used in our Fender kits as is the best choice for the sparkling clean sounds that most players want from their Fender amplifiers. The mid-range is very transparent which when changing pickup selection give a nice tonal variation which is lost in some other valves.
The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up without that harsh fuzzy tone.
The Harma EL84/E84L is chosen as it has the best clean sound out of any modern EL84. This is the special burst tested version of the E84L that is tested on the rig built for Brian May for the ultimate reliability.
In clean mode the valve has a well-balanced sound with a deep solid bass. The valve breaks up later than many others and in overdriven conditions results in a clearly defined creamy distortion. These characteristics make this the ideal valve in Fender amplifiers.
Original G12H 55 Hz Celestion are very sought after but why are Vintage G12H speaker so special?
No Speaker matches its thick sustain and growling bottom end punch. The 55hz version has a tighter and deeper bass response. Its unique tonal characteristics of the speaker and its superb overdriven performance have made this the choice of the cream of rock guitar
Celestion developed this speaker for Marshall and it had be tonally the same as the vintage original.
Every detail of the original speaker was meticulously reproduced, voice coil winding lengths and voice coil materials. The Original materials were used for the coil former and dust cap with exact dimensions and specification.
The cones edge treatment and adhesives were exactly replicated and finally two of the most vital sound secrets. The cones material properties changes tonally over time so the cones were manufactured to replicate this. The originals magnetic flux and the demagnetisation also changes over time and Celestion replicated this. The result was a perfectly aged and sounding replica of this iconic speaker and made, like the originals in England.
