Watford Valves has cryogenically treated some of the more popular and best sounding General Electric valves. This process makes a permanent change and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs. The biggest benefits I have found has been a dramatic improvement in dynamic range. Bass response has been clearer with reduction in microphonics. The soundstage is bigger with more detail with a big reduction in the noise floor. The really most starling fact has been how the valve operates under saturated and overdriven conditions in guitar amplifiers. The distortion is smoother with less hardness and is musically pleasing to the ear.
Selected for Valve MicrophonesEC92 6AB4 General Electric valve that has been selected and cryogenically treated for use in tube microphone such as Neumann Geffel UM57 and Neumann CMV-563.
The original GE EC92 6AB4 Cryo version Is considered by some of our customers as one of the best. The valve are have a superb top end resolution which is very open we have been told is super on female vocal. It has a brighter top end response when compared to the famous Telefunken EC92.
We have a very limited stock of these selected Cryo treated that are an ideal upgrade for any tube microphone using EC92 6AB4.
These are a real bargain and are a fraction of the cost that some microphone specialists charge for a standard version of this valve.
