Philips Electronics Components Group was the name given to the products marketed in America after Philips bought the American valve manufacturer Sylvania in the early 1980’s. Sylvania was a major manufacturer of valves and Philips bought them to get the lucrative American Government and military contracts.
These valves are of the highest military grade which offer outstanding performance and were all made in the USA.

These military grade JAN specification Nos USA made Philips 6V6GT are considered by many guitarists as the best sounding 6V6GT for that Classic American 6V6GT sound.
The valve is made to the full military specification and so it is built like a tank .The anode plate is the famous Philips Sylvania designed box anode. This design gives extra support to the top mica with reinforced side anode plates with copper support rods. The result is you do not get any rattles with this valve.
In clean mode the Philips 6V6GT has a harmonic open top which provides a warm transparent and sparkling clean sound. The bass response is tightly focused with rock solid bass note definition.
No other new old stock or modern 6V6GT supplies this sparkling clean sound and top end chime that the military USA Philips 6V6GT delivers. That is why this valve is considered the bench mark when it comes to Fender style clarity.
The superb way the Philips 6V6GT valve handles distortion and drive pedals is where this valve excels. When overdriven the valve has a nice crunchy later break up, the midrange is rich in harmonics with unrivalled clarity and when fully overdriven the bass does not go flabby like many other 6V6GT.
It is no wonder that these are the valves that Fender used as their own branded Fender thought the mid-1970s through to the late 1980s. They have a nice dynamic sound which works really well with single coil Fenders or humbucking Gibson's.
