Last One in StockThe Siemens EF804S was made by Telefunken and was a selected for use in high end electronics and studio equipment. The S designation meant factory selected for the best possible S/N ratio with low microphonics for exacting applications with a 10,000 hour life expectancy.
The German Telefunken company was the only company that made the EF804S.These items are made and selected by Telefunken and are branded Siemens and have Telefunken diamond mark on the base.

The valve also has a number of improvements over other popular pentodes of the time such as the EF86. Telefunkens EF804S also has a number of design improvements. They used a special cathode coating and changed the pin layout of the cathode and the grid to reduce the cross talk from the filaments. They used a taller more rugged glass envelope and a special anode material which resulted in very low microphonics.
Specially made for the professional recording industry where it was used in microphones and microphone preamps such as the V72. These come in the original Siemens boxes and are a very high quality item.
These valves have been is specially selected under real working condition and have passed the following tests:
Anode current
Transconductance (gm)
Output Drive Tested
Noise 1 (signal to noise)
Noise 2 (Aural)
Microphonics Test 1(Ambient)
Microphonic Test 2 (Shock)
Cathode Test
Grid Leakage Test
