Blackstar guitar amplifiers have quite rightly caused a major buzz in the music industry since their launch back in 2007. By upgrading the valves to our selected sets customers have been able to voice their amps to their personal requirements. Customers have reported a range of benefits when upgrading the valves over the factory items.
Here we have listed our most common upgrades using current production and the best new old stock items to help you get the most out of these fine Blackstar amplifiers.
This Electro Harmonix upgrade kit covers the Blackstar HT5C, HT5R and HT5-RC head and combos.This has been a very popular kit as it provides a raunchy rock sound when overdriven and gives an authentic metal tone when driven hard.
When used in the Blackstar HT5 the Electro Harmonix set breaks up a little earlier than the other sets which gives the amp a nice crunchy tone.
The 12AX7 EH valve breaks up easily and quickly and being a high gain valve is a very open and has very low levels of hiss so it is well suited to the saturation provided by the HT5. Since its introduction we have supplied a lot of Electro Harmonix kits as overall the set provides excellent sound quality and can cater for a vast range of musical styles
