Novosibirsk, Russia is a Large collective factory that, makes high quality receiving valves and diodes.
Russian vintage military 5U4C in Cyrillic script which has a compact ST coke bottle glass envelope dual grey anode plate with bottom flying saucer getter. On Inspection these valve are identical to the Foreign made Brimar GZ32, Pinnacle GZ32 and Z & I Aero Services also known as Zaerix. So It is clear that this Russian 5U4C is what these companies were rebranding.
So a look at the data sheet shows the following
GZ32- heater volts 5, heater current 2 amps, max anode current 500 m/A max rectified current 125 m/A.
The 5U4C is identical in all except the max anode current which is 375 m/A
So I decided to run these in my Quad 11 Power amps during lock down and 2 years on no issues.
All The 5U4C we offer have been individually tested on voltage drop. These valve offer the Quad 11 owners a cost effective alternative to the expensive GZ32.
The compact size looks better and in proportion to the KT66.
We have a small stock of this classic nos rectifier valve
