Thermionic Culture Ltd. was formed in England in 1998 by Vic Keary and Jon Bailes to manufacture state of the art valve studio equipment.
Vic Keary credentials are the best in the business as not only has he mixed, produced and engineered but also he designed the equipment that was used on countless hit records in his days at Lansdowne, Chalk Farm Studios & Chiswick Reach. Jon Bailes is an expert designer in the electronic manufacturing industry.
Our valve revalve kits use only the highest grade new old stock valves and the best of the modern made valves. We have put these kits together to allow easy ordering for our studio customers.

Thermionic Culture the Phoenix SB upgrade kit consists of a set of 6 selected valves to provide a superb sonic upgrade for this legendary valve compressor.
The kit consists of German made valves that are renowned for their neutrality and accuracy.
This set uses a gain selected and balanced set of high grade original German made Mazda PCC85 valves in the input stage . In the output stage we use a balanced pair of German made RFT ECC81.
The German made valve set has become some engineers choice as it offers exceptional clarity with a leaner mid band when compared to the Mullard kit we offer. The reduction in midrange warmth and fatness offers greater neutrality which is preferred by some.
This set is offers a the great combination of sonic clarity and sound quality.
