These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83.
In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.
This full revalve kit consists of specially selected Harma Retro valves for Mesa Boogie amplifiers. This set has been designed to give your Mesa more top end transparency and the classic warm tone with rich creamy distortion that many players require out of their Mesa amplifiers.The pre amplifier valves are specially selected for Mesa amplifiers for low microphonics and gain and the kit includes a balanced valve for the phase inverter position
The Harma ECC83 Retros provide a harmonically rich and detailed sound with 3D midrange warmth that produces a huge sustaining tone. The outstanding feature of this valve is it smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.
The EL84 Retro has a deep well defined tight bass that produces the classic slam of the Mullard in the bottom end. The midrange performance has been tweaked to provide warm clear detail at low volumes with clear articulation and smooth even distortion when the amplifier is cranked.
This combination brings the amplifiers sound back to life. You will get improvements in such as a crystal clear top end with more extension and clarity when used clean. When using the overdriven settings the valves combined characteristics provide a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics with excellent projection on solos.
In terms of the 5Y3GT we use the original American military Philips 5Y3WGTA.
The kit consists of 10 valves.
