Way Huge was launched 1992 by founder Jeorge Tripps and made some legendary pedals. In late 1999 the company closed its doors when Tripps went to work for Line 6. In 2008 Tripps and the company moved to Dunlop Manufacturing and resurrected the Way Huge line.
The Way Huge Smalls Swollen Pickle Jumbo Fuzz Mk3 is in a super pedalboard friendly enclosure of this classic Muff style pedal. Way huge maintains the same circuit from the larger edition Swollen Pickle but gone are the internal switches. The scoop and crunch rotary controls have been replaced by toggle switches.

The Smalls has the same 3 knobs controlling the Loudness, Sustain and Filter on the top with the new toggle switches providing Crunch and Scoop. Engage the Crunch toggle and this will increase the degree of Compression Distortion. The Scoop toggle allows you to scoop out the selected mid frequencies. Way huge has carefully selected these settings which enable you to easily select the sound you are looking for.

In use the Swollen Pickle Jumbo does give you instant access to the classic fuzz tones in a simpler easy to use package. Chords are thick and smooth with the fuzz tone both fat and full. Power chords have the bottom end slam and sound huge. The Smalls Swollen Pickle is both deeper and richer and rounder than my Keeley PSI Fuzz. What I really like is the Fuzz is certainly organic and creamy and can go to blistering full on fuzz distortion in an instant.

The Swollen Pickle Smalls keeps all the tonal character of its bigger brother in a pedal friendly casing that will be a sure fire winner for those who want a classic muff style distortion.
