The General Electric 5654W is the Original valve in this microphone and it produces a warm and very musical sound with especially fabulous top end response. This is what sets this valve apart from the rest is the valves response on cymbals and horns sit. They sit a little forward in the mix providing plenty of dynamics. The valve is leaner in the midrange and has a more laid back response when compared to the Mullard M8100 and Siemens.
