The General Electric 5654W is the Original valve in this microphone and it produces a warm and very musical sound with especially clear top end response. This is what sets this valve apart from the rest og the 5654 types is the valves response on cymbals and horns. They sit a little forward in the mix providing plenty of dynamics. The valve is leaner in the midrange and has a more laid back response when compared to the Mullard M8100 and Siemens 5654w
