Fender Amplifiers have a huge musical legacy that dates from the very beginning of modern popular music. Fender amplifies have a clean tonal character which is not matched by another manufacture in the world. Our Fender full revalve kits are put together after a life time of using and comparing the performance of valves in these amplifiers. The kits offer the best options drawn from original new old stock USA made valves and their modern counterparts. They are designed and put together to provide improved sonic and tonal definition with more clarity out of these legendary amplifiers. Each preamp kit is specially selected for low noise, uniform gain and tonal characteristic. All output valves have been burst tested and matched on anode current and gain.
Our Fender Champ 5B1 5C1 6SJ7 Philips 6V6GT kit is designed to give that classic sparkling clean tone in clean mode with a tight punchy overdriven sound with the best clarity and harmonic chime when the amp is driven. The 6SJ7 CEI USA is used to maintain the amps sparkling clean sounds. The mid range is clean and transparent which removes the mush from the sound when the amplifier is overdriven. The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up with a fat well balanced tone.
The U.S.A made Philips 6V6GT valve is the benchmark for that classic Fender bright and clean sound. The valve has a clear top end chime and vibrancy that no other 6V6GT can match. In overdriven mode the Philips valve excels as it provides a clean punchy overdrive with plenty of rich harmonics.
The other real major advantage of this valve was that it did not get muddy or fizzy when really pushed. It does not lose control or get flabby in the bass area, i.e. the valve compressed at the right area so it is easy to find the amps sweet spot. It simply out classes the modern made 6V6GT without exception.
