The Epiphone valve special DSP really benefits from upgrading the stock speaker. The Celestion G12M Greenback transforms this amp by giving you all those crunchy Angus young style sounds with enough warmth and top end detail.
The Harma ECC83 STR is used for its the sparkling clean sounds and its very transparent midrange. The E84L produces the maximum clean headroom out of any current made EL84 valves. It provides a deep clear bass response, clear mids and smooth highs. When pushed into distortion the valve produces a rich warm overdrive sound. This is the special burst tested version of the E84L that is tested on the rig built for Brian May for the ultimate reliability.
The Celestion G12M Greenback responds wonderfully to the guitarists playing dynamics. The G12M has a warm, woody sound, with enough brightness and punch to cut through the rest of the band. The definitive blues rock speaker that is on countless famous recordings.
This combination of sound has made this our most popular unit for this amplifier.
