Many musicians have found that by upgrading the stock Eminence/Fender blue back speakers to a Jensen, Celestion or Weber they have improved the sonic and tonal definition with smoother distortion characteristics of these fine amplifiers. We also have the Harma USA series speakers that have been specially designed with 3 different tonal options so you can get the best out of your Fender amplifier.
By upgrading the valves to selected HARMAs They have noticed the additional benefits such as better clarity, larger and improved sound stage with increased reliability.
Here we have listed our most common upgrades giving you the opportunity to enjoy a valve and speaker upgrade at a greatly reduced cost.
The Fender Blues Junior fitted with the Harma STR E84L and the Celestion A Type is designed to provide top quality clean sounds with the classic vintage American rock sound. It is an effective upgrade over the stock speaker and the Celestion A Type upgrade kit is one of the best upgrade you can if you want a more authentic Fender sound.
The Harma ECC83 STR is used in our Fender kits as is the best choice for the sparkling clean sounds that most players want from their Fender amplifiers. The mid-range is very transparent which when changing pickup selection give a nice tonal variation which is lost in some other valves.
The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up without that harsh fuzzy tone.
The Harma EL84/E84L is chosen as it has the best clean sound out of any modern EL84. This is the special burst tested version of the E84L that is tested on the rig built for Brian May for the ultimate reliability.
In clean mode the valve has a well-balanced sound with a deep solid bass. The valve breaks up later than many others and in overdriven conditions results in a clearly defined creamy distortion. These characteristics make this the ideal valve in Fender amplifiers.
The Celestion A type speaker delivers a full sound with a wonderfully open treble. The midrange response has more body and is nicely rounded with plenty of depth. The A Type has a smooth articulation and will suit county picking from players who want more bite right through to Rock players who want the crunch without the fizz. This is without doubt one of the best sounding 12 inch speakers on the market and is ideal speaker to upgrade any American sounding amp
