The Little Dot MK9 headphone amplifier has an exceptional dynamic range and musical quality.So in order to get the best out of this remarkable little amplifier we use a set of high grade valves in the Sylvania 6SL7GT and the General Electric 6080.The GE 6080 black plate valve is something of an audio bargain as many of our customer prefer this item over many other brands.
This combination has been one of our most popular and best selling upgrades as it provides good bass definition with a transparent and musical midrange. The Treble is transparent an airy fell with plenty of top end sparkle. This set has greater clarity over the standard items and is very well balanced across audio spectrum. This is an excellent upgrade for this remarkable amplifier.The General Electric 6080 is the standard early type before the valve had any revisions.
The 6080 GE has a very refined sound with an especially fabulous top end response.
The top end has a little more delicacy and air in the soundstage so is great on cymbals and percussion. Like all GE valves the 6080 has that warm and clear midrange sound which is very musical. The top end extension makes this a great choice for jazz, especially horns
