is designed to get the best sound out of this amplifier by removing the High end fizz and rather brittle distortion that this amplifier displays. We do this by a simple valve and speaker change.
The set consist of a specially selected set of Harma Retro preamp and output valves. All preamp valves in our kits are specially drive tested and include a balanced valve for the phase inverter position. The output valves are burnt in and dual matched on current and output gain.
Our Harma Retro Classic kit is designed to give you the Classic Vintage British rock sound.
The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with clear 3D midrange warmth. It has a very open and clear top end chime giving that gives the amplifier that rich sustaining tone. The 6L6GC Retro is designed to break up later in order to give that big Fender style clean sound. The valve produces an even and rich soundstage never sounding muddy under full distortion. It has a tight bottom and a clear and chimey treble response which is close to the old USA made Philips Sylvania sound.
The Celestion Vintage 30 speaker provides immense volume and sustain with very tight bass response. Famous for its warm mid-range and a beautifully detailed top-end this speaker makes your solos stand out. Single note runs are clear and chords have that vintage 3D crunch. This is why this is the industry standard rock guitar speaker
