Thermionic Culture Ltd. was formed in England in 1998 by Vic Keary and Jon Bailes to manufacture state of the art valve studio equipment.
Vic Keary credentials are the best in the business as not only has he mixed, produced and engineered but also he designed the equipment that was used on countless hit records in his days at Lansdowne, Chalk Farm Studios & Chiswick Reach. Jon Bailes is an expert designer in the electronic manufacturing industry.
Our valve revalve kits use only the highest grade new old stock valves and the best of the modern made valves. We have put these kits together to allow easy ordering for our studio customers.
This Rooster MK 1 valve Pre amp & EQ full revalve kit is for the original TC Rooster using ECC81 & 5725W valves. It consists of a set of 6 selected valves to provide the best sonic and audio performance from this legendary piece of studio equipment. Our valve revalve kits use only the highest grade new old stock valves and the best of the modern made valves. We have put these kits together to allow easy ordering for our studio customers.
In the input stage we use a matched pair of selected Harma ECC81 STR which is a high quality German made double triode.
The difference is in the distortion or enhancer valve and here we use a special quality General Electric military 5725W 6AS6W for its unique distortion characteristics. The GE item is what many professional customers have told us is the best valve sounding valve for this unit hence why we use it in all our Kits
We use a special quality General Electric military 5725W 6AS6W for its unique distortion characteristics. This valve produces a big soundstage with a rich and vibrant distortion that over the years has been our customers favourite for this unit.
A special quality Philips PCF80 is used in the output stage in a matched pair
