Our Mesa Boogie specially selected Cryo full revalve kits are designed to enable you to get the best sound out of your Mesa Boogie amplifier. These sets consist of specially position selected Cryo treated pre amp valves that have been selected for each position of your Mesa amplifier.
In the output stage we use specially cryogenically treated valves that have been selected to work with the Mesa boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain output valves will be better for certain kinds of music and therefore to make your choice easier we have indicated this in our product description.
Mesa Boogie amps have pioneered the way in multi channel high gain amplifiers and with these cryogenically treated valves sets this will take your sound to a new level.
Special Offer 10% DiscountThis Cryo full revalve kit consists of a Harma ECC83 STR Cryo in the pre amplifier section combined with the Harma 5881 Cryo output valves. It is designed to give your Mesa Dual caliber model more clarity, smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. The Cryo treatment enhances the high end treble giving a nice clarity and attack to your lead solos.
The Harma ECC83 STR Cryo is used as it has a number of advantages over other 12AX7 types such as reduced microphonics and better isolation from vibration. This is particularly useful in combo applications. The valve is very well balanced with nice even bass which has plenty of depth. The mid-range is clean and transparent and has a nice rounded tone. This valve removes the mush and fizz that happens when Boogies are overdriven.
The Harma 5881 Cryo is the original Military grade button based item that Mesa used as the STR-425.This valve is one of the most reliable 6L6 types ever built with decades of use in Military applications. This valve removes the flabby bass associated with the Chinese made STR-440. The 5881 produces a cleaner and punchier response than the STR-440. The top end performance has a nice snap without being hard. If you scoop out the mids then this is an ideal choice as this valve does not go thin and tinny like some 6L6GC. The Harma 5881 Cryo produces a well-balanced thick sound that is ideal for Metal, Hard rock and fusion styles.
