These Ampeg pre amp revalve kits are put together to provide a sonic upgrade over the stock valves in your Ampeg. I own and have played over the past 30 years Ampeg SVT, Original V4B and for recording the B15-N portaflex. I have also used many of the Ampeg valve pre amps.So these kits use the best of New Old Stock valves and modern day production items to give you the best sound out of these lengendary bass amps.
The Ampeg B15S preamp revalve kit will cover the B15S which was a high powered porta flex amplifiers that was made from 1971 to 1977. The simple truth is that these amplifiers do not sound the same with modern made valves. So this set a no compromise set put together to give you the best sound using original USA made valves.

The General Electric ECC83 12AX7A are the original American made items that are excellent for bass amplifiers. What made the General Electric 12AX7A so special was that it had the best clean definition out of any of the American made 12AX7 types. The top end is always clear and out front sound very even. It has punchy midrange with a bright soft treble and excellent dynamics. These features make it ideal for bass amplifiers.

We use original military grade General Electric 7247 for the 12DW7 and a high quality Jan Philips ECC82 5814A.
