Here we offer a range of the best new old stock valves to transform the sound of your Little Dot amplifier.
Triple upgrade KitThe Triple kit consists of 2 Mullard M8100, 2 Siemens 5654W & 2 5654W Jan General Electric EF95 types for tube rolling in your Little Dot amplifier. So here you get the three classic valves so you can choose the valves for the music you are listening too.
My recommendation is to use the Mullard M8100 for music where you want more midrange warmth or a more laid back sound such as Classical music, Jazz, Reggae or female vocals. For Rock Blues and Funk then I would use the Siemens 5654W due to its really punchy nature.
For Jazz such as Charlie Parker or music that has a lot of percussion then I would use the
General Electric 5654W as this valve has an especially fabulous forward top end response.
The Mullard M8100 is very fast and dynamic with a deep warm bass response. The Mullard also has the smoothest and has the most detailed mid range response out of any EF95 valve that we have tested. The result is the most dynamic and enjoyable listening experience as they bring the music to life. .
The Siemens 5654W is very neutral sounding and has a less pronounced midrange than the Mullard. So you get all the natural sound of the recording which many people prefer. Sonically these are a rock gem as they are a lot more punchy and upfront when compared to the Mullard M8100 or the Jan General Electric. These are superb on Rock Music, put on Led Zeppelins Black Dog
or Heartbreaker and these will lead you to the Stairway to Heaven. So In my view for Rock, Funk or Blues after hearing the Siemens this is the one.
The General Electric 5654W simply lets Charlie go as Free as a Bird as they produce a warm and very musical sound with especially fabulous top end dynamics. The horns sit right upfront in the mix punching their way to the front of the soundstage.
Here you get all the EF95 types that you will ever need and changing the valve is as easy as changing the record.
