Many muscians have found that by upgrading the stock speakers and valves that they have improved the sound of their amplifier.
This is very relevant to the new Vox range of custom classic amplifiers where they are fitted with a Wharfdale or other such low cost speaker.By upgrading the speaker to a Celestion that would have been originally fitted to the Vox amplifiers they have improved the sonic and tonal definition of these fine amplifiers.
The valves that we have selected for these kits are the closest to the original Mullard in terms of sound from the modern factories.

Special Offer 10% DiscountVox AC15 Custom Classic Series Harma Retro full upgrade kit covers the A15 CC1 made between 2004 and 2009. Born from a classic design and with a heritage dating back to 1958 this upgrade kit with the Celestion blue the vox provides the open top end chime and harmonic mids of the Original 1960's Vox blue. This is the classic sound of Vox and brings your CC1 to CC1X specification.
The Harma ECC83 Retros provide a harmonically rich and detailed sound with 3D midrange warmth that produces a huge sustaining tone. The outstanding feature of this valve is it smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.
The EL84 Retro has a deep well defined tight bass that produces the classic slam of the Mullard in the bottom end. The midrange performance has been tweaked to provide warm clear detail at low volumes with clear articulation and smooth even distortion when the amplifier is cranked.
The Celestion G12 Alnico Blue Originally designed back in the 1950's by Celestion to cater for a new explosion in amplifier manufacturing. The unique tonal character of the Celestion Blue, combined with the valve amps of the time, helped to define the electric guitar as we know it today.
The Blue has a bright, lively character with a carefully controlled bottom end and shimmering highs which no other speaker matches to this day. This is the ultimate speaker in the Vox AC15 and AC30.
This speaker is often copied but never equalled and has a unique place in History.
