So whether you are a seasoned professional or playing for pleasure our upgrade kits will give you the sound you are looking for.
The Vox Harma EL34 Retro full revalve kit is designed to give you an instant upgrade over the standard Chinese valves by improving a number of important characteristics. It is designed to give you the classic Vox sound by providing valves that sound as close to the old Mullard sound as possible. This kit is for the G2 version which has 1 less preamp valve and was introduced in 2013.The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with clear 3D midrange warmth. It has a very open and clear top end chime giving that gives the amplifier that rich sustaining tone. The outstanding feature is a smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response. So you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows and that classic Mullard style bottom end.
The EL34 Retro is designed based on the famous Mullard EL34 and has a deep well defined tight bass that produces the classic slam of the Mullard in the bottom end.
The midrange performance has been tweaked to provide warm clear detail at low volumes with clear articulation and smooth full rounded tone when distorted or overdriven. The grids of The Harma EL34 Retro use a block construction which enables the valve to provide smoother output and eliminating odd order harmonics.
This combination removes the High end fizz and the harsh distortion characteristic which is common in the Chinese made EL34 and brings the amplifiers sound back to life.
You will get improvements in such as a crystal clear top end with more extension and clarity when used clean. When using the overdriven settings the valves combined characteristics provide a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics with excellent projection on solos.
The EL34 Harma Retro has also attained a 5 star review in Guitar Buyer magazine therefore making this the ideal output valve to use.
