Having tried a number of these amps what I really like is the attention to detail and workmanship. The amplifiers are based on famous tried and tested circuits and they sound exactly as Carr amps describe.
Our full revalve kit aim to help you get the best out of these excellent amplifiers.
Carr Impala Classic 6L6GC Retro Full Revalve Kit covers the Head and Combo and designed to give your amplifier that Classic clean vintage American sound with plenty of top end transparency right through to the gritty overdriven American tone. In order to get this sound right we have used a combination of modern made and Vintage New old stock valves in the pre amplifier section. The valves are specially selected for low microphonics and gain and the kit includes a balanced valve for the phase inverter position.
The Harma ECC83 Retro is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. This valve replicates the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous
The Harma ECC81 Retro has been specially chosen for its outstanding performance and sound quality. A specially selected balanced valve is included for the phase splitter position.
The Harma 5751 STR HG is a superbly warm and rich sounding 5751 with excellent clarity. This provides exactly the right sound for the Carr amplifier.
The Harma 6L6GC Retro is a re issue of the famous Sylvania STR 387. It features the same anode plate design with internal bracing reduces vibrations, rattle and microphonics which is a problem with many modern 6L6GC.
Sound wise, the Harma 6L6GC Retro provides a clear extended treble response in order to spice up old vintage amps and also caters for the modern sounds. Clean extended bass makes it our choice for use in the Carr amplifiers.
