Peavey 5150 MK 1 Harma Classic Groove Tube Super Premium 6L6GC GE RI Full Revalve Kit is designed for the hard Rock and metal players who are looking for the maximum warmth and a classic rock sound. Harma ECC83 Retro and the smooth and early treble breakup of the Groove tube GE reissue gives you the classic American crunchy 6L6GC sound. It does this and removes some of the harshness out of the high gain voicing's that this Classic Peavey offers.
The Harma ECC83 Retro pre amp valve offers more harmonic warmth with more transparency in the midrange than 12AX7 Chinese or the Electro Harmonix 12AX7 with a little less gain. The outstanding feature of the Harma ECC83 Retro is its smooth linear midrange response and clarity under overdriven conditions. So you get smooth warm singing overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. This has become our most popular pre amp valve for Peavey amplifiers.
The Groove Tubes 6L6GCG.E Re issue is a faithful recreation of General Electric later type clear top 6L6GC. This is one of the most famous 6L6GC of all time due to incredible dynamic range and large sound stage.
We have chosen this valve as it has the right balance of clarity and distortion when pushed hard. In clean mode, this valve provides a warm smooth sound with a very clean and open treble and is a faithful reproduction of the originals tone. In overdriven mode the valve has the right balance in terms of clarity and crunchy dynamics producing a clear creamy warm sustain.
Groove Tubes Super Premium 6L6GC G.E reissue valves are specially burst tested by us. We take selected GT items and in addition to GTs in house testing and distortion rating on output valves they also undergo our own unique real world burst testing. The burst testing process involves a series of varying timed electrical signal bursts. This runs the valves under the same stress conditions that they will meet in your amplifier. All out put valves are then dual matched by us on current and gain. This will ensure that you get the best selected GT valves available anywhere in the world.
