Peavey 3120 Harma Classic Groove Tube Super Premium EL34 Mullard RI Full Revalve Kit is designed to give you a Classic British rock sound with the most vintage warmth in the midrange. The kit when used in the high gain settings will remove the fizz that is a common complaint levelled against this Peavey amplifier.The Harma ECC83 Retro pre amp valve offers more harmonic warmth with more transparency in the midrange than 12AX7 Chinese or the Electro Harmonix 12AX7 with a little less gain. The outstanding feature of the Harma ECC83 Retro is its smooth linear midrange response and clarity under overdriven conditions. So you get smooth warm singing overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. This has become our most popular pre amp valve for Peavey amplifiers.
The Groove Tubes EL34 Mullard Re issue is a faithful recreation of Mullard most famous version of the EL34 XF2 double getter. This is one of the most famous EL34 of all time due to incredible dynamic range and crunchy tone.
We have chosen this valve as it has a wonderfully rounded midrange with a crunchy treble.
The valve overdrives very easily and this combined with the high gain circuitry gives the amplifier the most creamy blues/woman tone sustain. The Groove Tube EL34 is the most touch responsive EL34 in this amplifier and excels at producing warm sustaining lead lines.
In overdriven mode this set produces crunchy dynamics making classic rock sounds with ease and brings out the fine points of this amplifiers circuit.
Groove Tubes Super Premium EL34 Mullard reissue valves are specially burst tested by us. We take selected GT items and in addition to GTs in house testing and distortion rating on output valves they also undergo our own unique real world burst testing. The burst testing process involves a series of varying timed electrical signal bursts. This runs the valves under the same stress conditions that they will meet in your amplifier. All out put valves are then dual matched by us on current and gain. This will ensure that you get the best selected GT valves available anywhere in the world.
