Laney Amplifiers were born in the West Midlands in 1967 by Lyndon Laney. The West Midlands was UK industrial heartland and Lyndon who was playing with The Band of Joy which included John Bonham on drums and Robert Plant on vocals wanted to design amplifiers that sounded different from what was commercially available.

The West Midlands has given us some of the greatest bands and most talented musicians that the UK has ever produced. So it is no surprise that Laney has grown into a multinational company with a loyal and strong customer base.

Laney can be rightly credited with the design of amplifiers that founded Heavy metal as Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath has been a lifelong user of Laney amplifiers. Today, Laney Still works with Black Sabbath and modern artists such as The Prodigy, The Foo Fighters, and Skindred. Laney are the jewel in the crown of UK amplifier manufacture as they continue to product a range of well-designed good sounding amplifiers. These upgrade kits are designed to help you get the best out of these British designed Amplifiers.
The Laney Classic Retro full revalve kit is designed to give you an instant upgrade over the standard Chinese valves by improving a number of important characteristics.
It covers the Laney TT100 Head and gives it the Classic British Rock tone from this highly regarded Laney amplifier.

This is done by using modern day production ECC83 Harma Retro and EL34 valves are traditionally voiced to sound as close to the original Mullard valves as possible.

The Harma ECC83 Retros provide a harmonically rich and detailed sound with 3D midrange warmth that produces a huge sustaining tone. The outstanding feature of this valve is it smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.

The EL34 Retro is designed based on the famous Mullard EL34 and has a deep well defined tight bass that produces the classic slam of the Mullard in the bottom end.
The midrange performance has been tweaked to provide warm clear detail at low volumes with clear articulation and smooth full rounded tone when distorted or overdriven. The grids of The Harma EL34 Retro use a block construction which enables the valve to provide smoother output and eliminating odd order harmonics. This results in the singing vocal like transparency on solos.

This combination removes the High end fizz and the harsh distortion characteristic that is common in the Chinese made EL34 and brings the amplifiers sound back to life.
You will get improvements in such as a crystal clear top end with more extension and clarity when used clean. When using the overdriven settings the valves combined characteristics provide a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics with excellent projection on solos.

The EL34 Harma Retro has also attained a 5 star review in Guitar Buyer magazine therefore making this the ideal output valve to use.

The Kit consists of 10 valves.

5 Specially Selected Harma ECC83 Retro
1 Specially Selected & Balanced Harma ECC83 Retro for the phase splitter
4 Specially Selected Harma EL34 Retro in a matched Quad

Please note that this kit is for the valves only
