These Kits are designed and put together to enable you to get the best out of your particular amplifier.
The Marshall 9005 5881 Cryo 50+50 dual mono block amplifier Classic Retro full revalve kit is specially selected for Marshall 9005 50+50 watt valve power amp fitted with 5881 valves. The 5881 Cryo in the 9005 provides a deeper bottom end and more highs when compared to the EL34The 5881 valve is one valve that has really benefited from the sonic improvement that Cryogenic treatment brings to the valves performance. The output distortion is smoother with more detail and clarity under overload conditions. The Rhythm sound is clearer and displays a more transparent quality. Single guitar runs have far more attack and places the notes higher in the mix.
This whole set proves a tighter punchier sound with more attack and better focus when compared to the standard untreated 5881. The 5881 Cryo will therefore suit those who want greater tonal variation with more bottom end and sonic punch out of their 9005 power amp.
The Harma ECC83 Retro Cryo Balanced
This is a specially balanced valve for use as a driver valve.
The Harma ECC83 Retro Cryo is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. This valve replicates the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous.
The ECC83 Retro retains the classic Marshall crunch and provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with an excellent 3 dimensional midrange response.
This valve has a traditional British voiced sound and this valve has the outstanding feature that when it is overdriven it provides a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics. This combined with its smooth linear midrange response and extended low frequency response means you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. This captures that classic vintage Marshall sound better than all the other ECC83/12AX7 that I have tried.
The Harma 5881 Cryo is the original button based Russian military valve that powered the Marshall sound in the early to late nineties. This valve has bullet proof reliability and proven track record over decades of use in Russian military applications. The Cryo treatment really does transform this valve sound into a different class. The bass response is far tighter and clearer that the standard item and more importantly deeper and more extended. The midrange and treble are much fuller with more sustain and more top end sparkle. When used in Marshalls this valve produces a tight crunchy wall of sound which is very punchy.
If the valve is pushed with the pedals at the front the treble is forward and nicely aggressive without any fuzz. If you scoop out the mids then you still retain the punch and clarity unlike many other 6L6GC types.
In hard rock and metal and fusion terms this is the valve to use as valve has a really aggressive natural tone which will really bring back the kick into your Marshall sound.
This is why Marshall used this valve to power their high gain designs thought the early 1990's.
The set consists of 8 valves
4 Specially Gain selected and balanced Harma ECC83 Retro Cryo
