The W Jan version had a number of final improvements for military applications with a rugged construction which allows the valve to operate in high vibration applications. These are all come in the original government GE Boxes with 1987 date codes.
This valve is an audio bargain as the General Electric 5654W produces a warm and very musical sound with especially fabulous top end response. This is what sets this valve apart from the rest as cymbals and horns sit a little forward in the mix making it a great choice for jazz and Blues.
Customers are using to upgrade the stock valves in the Little Dot MK 11,111 & IV headphone amplifier and also in Yaqin CD players and Grant Fidelity units. The Chinese 6J1 is exactly the same valve can be upgraded with the GE 5654.
