Many readers have enjoyed the huge improvements made to these fine W.A.D. kits simply by fitting specially selected valves. They are guaranteed to provide tighter bass with improved detail and lower noise with increased dynamics. These amplifiers offer great Audio performance at a superb price.
The World Audio Design Kit and Kat 6550 amplifiers are one of my favourite sounding 6550 designs and offer remarkable value for money.Our JJ revalve kits consist of a specially selected set of JJ that will provide an outstanding upgrade to this amp. JJ valves are renowned around the world for their sound quality. They produce a smooth clear high end with a clean and clear treble.
The 6550 JJ has gained a worldwide reputation for sound quality and reliability and this valve has proved an excellent valve for all applications.
The JJ 6550 provides very lively punchy performance with plenty of detailed midrange punch. The low end bass response is very tight with plenty of depth and detail.
The JJ 6550 is superbly well balanced with the mids sitting in the correct position and providing plenty of detail. Top end is clear without being harsh. The JJ is also very well constructed with large anode plates and thick grade glass.
This is an excellent 6550 and one of the very few that can provide excellent & enjoyable musical reproduction
