We take selected GT items and in addition to GTs in house testing and distortion rating on output valves they also undergo our own unique real world burst testing. The burst testing process involves a series of varying timed electrical signal bursts. This runs the valves under the same stress conditions that they will meet in your amplifier. All output valves are then dual matched by us on current and gain. This along with the Cryo treatment will ensure that you not only get the best selected GT valves available anywhere in the world, you will also get the best sounding ones.
The EL34M Groove tube is based upon the most famous of all EL34 designs, The Mullard EL34 XF2 batch code double getter EL34. EL34 users in both the audio world and guitar amp world prize this valve as the very best of its type; hence originals are the most sought after of all el34 types.
In Guitar applications, the Groove Tube EL34M has a wonderfully rounded midrange with a slightly recessed treble response. The valve has an excellent distorted sound which is rounded and smooth giving both harmonic warmth and clarity.
This is a great blues valve as it is very touch responsive in Marshall Amplifiers, think of Gary Moore tone on still got the blues†and that is what the GT EL34M excels at.
The Cryo version has more sonic presence or bite as it is sometimes called. This combined with the enhanced sonic smoothness of the Groove Tube EL34M make the tone of this valve ideal for Rock and Blues players as they make a guitar amplifier sing.
