Our Mesa Boogie specially selected Cryo full revalve kits are designed to enable you to get the best sound out of your Mesa Boogie amplifier. These sets consist of specially position selected Cryo treated pre amp valves that have been selected for each position of your Mesa amplifier. In the output stage we use specially cryogenically treated valves that have been selected to work with the Mesa boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain output valves will be better for certain kinds of music and therefore to make your choice easier we have indicated this in our product description. Mesa Boogie amps have pioneered the way in multi channel high gain amplifiers and with these cryogenically treated valves sets this will take your sound to a new level.

This Cryo full upgrade kit consists of a Harma ECC83 STR Cryo in the pre amplifier section combined with the Harma 5881 Cryo output valves.

This kit is for the Mesa Buster bass combo where fitted with 6L6gc types and is designed to give your Buster bass a tight clear and well defined bass sound with punchy lows.
The Cryo treatment enhances the high end treble giving a nice clarity and attack to the sound. The bass response is also improved by the treatment as bass notes are cleaner and better defined.

The Harma ECC83 STR Cryo is used as it has a number of advantages over other 12AX7 types such as reduced microphonics and better isolation from vibration. This is particularly useful in combo applications such as the buster. The valve is very well balanced with nice even bass which has plenty of depth. The mid-range is clean and transparent and has a nice rounded tone.

The Harma 5881 Cryo is the button based Russian military valve which is the same valve that powered the Mesa Boogie amps (STR 425) in the late eighties. This valve has bullet proof reliability and proven track record over decades of use in Russian military applications.

This valve is particularly good for bass amplifier applications due to resilience to vibration. This valve removes the flabby bass associated with the Chinese made STR-440.
The 5881 produces a cleaner and punchier mid-range response than the STR-440. The top end performance has a nice snap without being hard. The Harma 5881 produces a well-balanced thick sound that is ideal for a vast range of musical styles.

The kit consists of 9 valves.
