These upgrade are tried and tested to help you get the most out of your Peavey amplifier.Peavey have made some really great amplifiers and combo's over the years. Here are some of my personal favourite upgrades with many customers finding that by upgrading the stock valves and speaker gives improved tone.
The kits consist of valves and speakers that enable you to voice your amplifier to your own requirements.
The Peavey Windsor Studio Classic upgrade kit fitted with a Celestion Vintage 30 is designed to provide a tight driving rock sound with plenty of rich sustain. This combination designed to give you the classic British sound rock sound.This is an effective upgrade over the stock speaker which sounds dull and lifeless in comparison. This lifeless performance changed dramatically when I changed the speaker in my own Peavey Windsor Studio.
We use a combination of the best current productions items to achieve this.
The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with excellent 3D midrange warmth. This valve has a traditional British voiced sound that has a huge singing sustaining tone when overdriven. The outstanding feature of this valve is its smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.
The Harma EL34 Retro is modeled on the famous Mullard EL34 XF2 provides a tight bass and warm midrange sound in clean mode. In overdriven mode the Harma has a more forward sound in the mid and top and will break up early. The main difference and feature of the Harma EL34 Retro is that the treble response is more aggressive. This gives the amp a punchier in your face British sound.
The Celestion Vintage 30 speaker provides immense volume and sustain with very tight bass response. Single note runs are clear and the speaker is rich in harmonics. This is the industry standard rock speaker.
