The Tung-sol reissue valves are produced by the Sovtek Corporation to high standards at their reflector plant. These are recreations of some of the most popular Audio and guitar valves and they also produce some original designs under the Tung Sol name such as the KT120.
These valve are used by original equipment manufactures the work over for their sound quality and reliability.
Tung sol 6550 reissue has been constructed to the original specifications of the 1960s model. 1960s model features a triple getter, 3-hole anode plate version with a carbonized screen, and gold plated grid. This in original format has become one of the most highly sought after 6550 by audio users the world over.The reissue Tung-Sol is very well balanced and has clear separation with no muddiness and exceptional sound quality throughout the sound spectrum. This is a great Audio 6550 for upgrading large Audio Research amplifiers and with excellent build quality it makes these valves an excellent alternative to expensive NOS tubes.
