Our Classic Retro Cryo kits have been by far our most popular as many owners have found that the Cryo treated valves have helped them find their sonic signature and improved the sound of their amplifiers. By upgrading the valves to selected Cryo valves they have noticed the additional benefits such as better clarity, larger and improved sound stage with increased reliability. Here we have listed our most common upgrades to the Vox range.

Now the sought after warm fat sustaining overdriven sound and the lush shimmering warmth of original British made vintage Mullards is attainable as the Classic Retro Cryo full upgrade kit is designed to give you as close as possible to the most sought after sound in Rock Music.

The heart of the Heritage hand wired series and the soul of the Vox sound is the classic EF86 channel. The only valve that truly supplies that original sound is a new old stock Philips Mullard mesh anode EF86. Philips owned Mullard from 1926 and the Dutch made Philips Dario Miniwatt EF86 is considered by many the best EF86. So we have taken a selected Philips Dario Miniwatt mesh EF86 Cryo for this kit.

The Cryo process on the Harma Retro provide a harmonically rich and detailed 3D midrange that produces a huge a warm sustaining tone when pushed. The outstanding feature of this valve is it has a smooth linear midrange response The Cryo process adds more focus, better clarity and crisp musical distortion with better imaging in clean or in overdriven modes. This results in that warm a fat guitar tome that we all love.

The Harma EL84 Retro is designed to provide a smoother and warmer output with more mid-range emphasis. The Cryo process tightens up the bass giving the bottom end more definition and depth. The process also enhances the valves mid forwardness, just like the original, giving a full sustaining tone when overdriven to that aggressive biting tone when saturated. Power chords are tighter and have more weight and slam. The resulting single note solos easily cut through the mix. In short, a proven way of obtaining NOS sound quality with a great difference, an affordable price!
