Special Offer 10% DiscountThe Marshall 9200 EL34 100+100 dual mono block amplifier Classic Retro full revalve kit is specially selected for Marshall 9200 100+100 watt valve power amp fitted with EL34 valves.
The Classic Marshall kits are designed to give your Marshall as close to the old Mullard tone as possible. This is done by using a combination of classic new old stock and modern day production valves that are traditionally voiced.
In the driver stage section we use the following,
The Harma ECC81 STR Balanced
This is a specially balanced valve for use as a phase splitter.
The Harma ECC81 STR is a German manufactured new old stock valve that has been specially chosen for its outstanding performance and sound quality. The Harma ECC81-STR has a number of important features that set this valve apart from the current production items. The German engineers used the military designed half flange anode plate. This has 3 support rods which run through the anode plate. This design was specified by the military for military contacts as it reduces vibration and shock in critical applications. This valve has a 22mm glass envelope which makes it very resilient to micro phonics and outperforms all modern ECC81-12AT7 in this regard. Sonically the valve has outstanding performance and plenty of gain to dive the output valves.
The Harma ECC83 Retro Balanced
This is a specially balanced valve for use as a buffer valve.
The Harma ECC83 Retro is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. This valve replicates the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous.
The ECC83 Retro retains the classic Marshall crunch and provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with an excellent 3 dimensional midrange response.
This valve has a traditional British voiced sound and this valve has the outstanding feature that when it is overdriven it provides a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics. This combined with its smooth linear midrange response and extended low frequency response means you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows. This captures that classic vintage Marshall sound better than all the other ECC83/12AX7 that I have tried.
In the output stage we use the following
The Harma EL34-Retro is based on the famous Mullard EL34 XF2 design and has a number of important features over standard EL34 types. The grids of the tube use a block construction this enables the valve to provide smoother output and eliminating odd order harmonics. The result is a tight bass response with a balanced sound stage and clean clear treble. Thicker glass not only adds strength but also provides lower microphonics. The valve has a slight midrange forwardness giving the sound a full rounded tone when distorted or overdriven.
The Harma EL34 Retro will suit the vast majority of guitarists from the classic rock player, the hard rock and metal player who want that classic Marshall sound. The EL34 Harma Retro has also attained a 5 star review in Guitar Buyer magazine therefore making this the ideal valve for the governors' amps.
