World Audio Design is an excellent range of Audio amplifiers that come in kit or full made format.
Many readers have enjoyed the huge improvements made to these fine W.A.D. kits simply by fitting specially selected valves. They are guaranteed to provide tighter bass with improved detail and lower noise with increased dynamics. These amplifiers offer great Audio performance at a superb price.
The World Audio Design WD88VA was designed by Andy Grove who was also responsible for the design of some of the more recent QUAD valve amplifiers. This is one of my favourite sounding KT88 designs. It has a sound stage and sonic richness that is remarkable for the price. Our JJ revalve kits consist of a specially selected set of JJ that will provide an outstanding upgrade to this amp. JJ valves are renowned around the world for their sound quality. They produce a smooth clear high end with a clean and clear treble.
The KT88 JJ has gained a worldwide reputation for sound quality and reliability and this valve has proved an excellent valve for all applications.
The JJ KT88 is very well balanced with an incredibly smooth midrange with excellent detail and clarity. The top end treble response is also very clear with no harshness or fuzziness. The JJ is also very well controlled in the bass department with a tight grip over the sound. The KT88 is very well constructed with large anode plates and heat dissipating fins.
This is an excellent KT88 and one of the very few that can provide excellent & enjoyable musical reproduction
