Philips was founded by Frederik Philips and his son Gerard Philips in 1891 in Eindhoven in Holland. They concentrated on mass production of incandescent lamps. By the end of the 1890s Philips & Co. is one of the largest producers in the Netherlands and, with 1,000 employees, the country’s largest industrial employer. In 1928 Philips bought Mullard after a joint venture in vacuum tubes. Philips had been one of main originators with in the musical field. They invented the compact cassette and CD discs and also some of the great valve designs such as the EL34 and EL84.
EF86 Cryo Dario Miniwatt

The Dario Miniwatt was a brand name for mighty Philips electronics group.
Phillips were the parent company of Mullard and Amperex .These EF86 were made in Holland and are identical to the Amperex Bugle boy and mesh plate Mullard EF86.

They have the famous mesh construction with yellow logo and have the words Holland embossed in the glass.

This valve offers the same character and sonic performance as the Mullard EF86 and the Amperex Bugle boys. This character has made these one of the most sought after EF86 for high end audio applications.

The Cryo treated version offer a great improvements in sonics and detail. This valve has the trade mark mid band clarity and warmth, making this an ideal choice in tube microphone and high end audio applications.

This valve is also excellent in vintage and modern guitar amplifiers as it has a warmth and clarity which is not matched by any other EF86
