Electro Harmonix is the top end brand which is owned by the Sovtek corp.
Many of these valve designs are new designs based on old classic items.
6072A/12AY7 Electro Harmonix is a favourite valve with guitar players as it reduces the gain by around 60% when used in place of a ECC83/12AX7 in the V1 position. The Electro Harmonix 6072A/12AY7 is based on the famous military G.E 6072A. In guitar amp applications it provide a nice balanced sound with plenty of clean and clear detail and provides a very low microphonics.
This is also a great option for harp players wishing to drop the gain of the amplifier in the input stage to prevent feedback. Solid construction and 22 mm glass make this a good choice.
