The Harma 12AX7WA Vintage and Tung Sol 6V6GT full upgrade kit covers both the MK1 Rockerverb 50 head and Rockerverb 50 combo. It uses a combination of Harma Vintage 12AX7WA & Tung Sol 6V6GT and provides great clarity with late breakup and a rich musical distortion.These specially chosen full revalve upgrade kits are designed to help you get the best out of your Orange. We select these valves and supply these in special sets for Orange Owners.
The Harma 12AX7WA Vintage has been specially designed by the factory to recreate the two most vital elements of classic valve sound. The famous Mullard mid band and the outstanding top end clarity of the General Electric.
The valves late break up design allows your pre amp to be cleaner which in turn does not drive your output valves as hard allowing you to get that power amp distortion more naturally resulting in more of your amps tone.
Sonically, the Harma 12AX7WA Vintage has plenty of definition with a clear open top end chime whether played in clean or overdriven mode. The factory enhanced midband replicates the vintage Mullard producing as warm and thick mid sound with excellent note the definition.
The master stroke is that the Harma 12AX7WA does not go thin and fizzy or harden in the midland when driven with pedals. it retains the sparkle and chime and gives the overdriven sound fatness and smoothness without being brittle or hard.
The Tung Sol 6V6GT valve is the only modern 6V6GT that bears comparison to the USA made items such as the Philips, RCA & GE in terms of balance and compression. All the clean sounds are clean and sparkling. The out of phase Strat sounds were excellently reproduced with a nice clear twang.
The Tung-sol has a clear and more open sounding top end. The midrange has that classic vintage warm rounded sound which makes it excellent for rock and blues. The bottom end is very tight and deep sounding. The Tung Sol is superbly made with no rattle due to heavier plate materials.
When overdriven the sound was cleaner and more detailed than most modern 6VGT. The bass was tight and the when overdriven the sound gets bigger giving excellent dynamics.
It provides the right mix of vintage clarity and modern overdriven punch.
The Tung-sol is certainly one of the best sounding modern made 6V6GT and has a sound that is full of vintage character.
