RCA / 6AU6A-RCA
One of the most famous American Valve manufactures of all time. RCA was responsible for designing and manufacturing many important valves such is the 6V6GT, 6L6GC, 7027a and the super EL84 known as 7189.
RCA also pioneered many advances in manufacture such as the black plate coating and had a hand in helping GEC make the famous KT66.
Original USA made RCA 6AU6A and is one of the most popular valves for use in tube microphones .The RCA offer superb sound quality across the musical spectrum.We have supplied these for use in Calrec, Sony C37a and C800G and Altec 21B microphones over the years. These are fully interchangeable with the other 6AU6 types. They also offer and upgrade over the Russian 6P2 and Chinese 6J4P, 6ZH4P.
They also have improved clarity and are quieter than the Russian 6P2 and Chinese 6J4P, 6ZH4P types. They also offer and upgrade over the Russian 6P2 and Chinese 6J4P, 6ZH4P.
Remember that for vintage tube microphones that use the Original USA made 6AU6 types the RCA is the correct size. The glass envelope is 18 mm in diameter and excluding the B7G base pins the valve is 47 mm tall. Unlike the larger diameter Russian and Chinese items.
