Magnatone Amplifiers hey day was in the late 1950's early 1960's and were used by many of the great names of that era.
Our full upgrade kits use a blend of new production and vintage new old stock valves to enable you get the best out of the new reissues.

The Harma ECC83 STR is used as it has a very well balanced tone with nice even solid bass. The mid-range is clean and transparent with plenty of high end chime and extended upper range harmonics.
In the output stage we use the Harma E84L as this has proved to be one of the most reliable EL84 available. The Harma E84L is a high quality special application military valve that has a rugged construction and thick glass which reduces microphonics and rattles in all guitar combos. The valve produces a deep clear bass response, clear mids and smooth highs.
It delivers the maximum clean headroom out of any current EL84 and provides a rich warm overdrive sound when distorted with excellent balance and no hardness
This is the special burst tested version of the E84L that is tested on the rig built for Brian May for the ultimate reliability.
This combination of a transparency in the input stage and a clean output stage gives you the perfect marriage of clean and crunch sounds.
