Telefunken was a German radio and television apparatus company, founded in Berlin in 1903, as a joint venture of Siemens & Halske and the Allgemeine Elektricitats-Gesellschaft (A.E.G).
In 1967 Telefunken were merged with AEG and the company renamed AEG-Telefunken.
In 1985 the Telefunken name was dropped. The Telefunken name is one we associate with rare and valuable valves which are some of the best sounding valves ever made.
The Telefunken ECC82 Smooth plate is probably the most sought after audiophile ECC82 ever made. It certainly the item that we have had the most request for over the years
These have long 17mm smooth plates and come in the original boxes. They were made in the Telefunken factory in West Germany. They have the Telefunken code printed on the valve and yes they have the important Telefunken Diamond <> mark on the bottom.
These valves a renowned for the highest quality musical reproduction and resolution.
What this valve does is supply musical precision with the most top end resolution with air and space around the music .This valve is one of the very few that do not colour the sound. The Telefunken provides the music as it is with nothing added to make the sound warm and fluffy, this is why the 17mm smooth plate is considered the best. The balance and sonics in a true high end preamp
Is superb.
What the Telefunken does not do is over blow the midband like the famous Mullard Cv4003 .So if your amp sounds thin then you will love the Mullard not the Telefunken.
We have a small amount of this superb ECC82 and tested and selected for low noise.
