The JJ factory was born out of the ashes of the former Tesla factory.
They currently make a range of High quality valves based on some of Tesla most famous designs.
The JJ 6CA7/EL34 is based on the famous Sylvania 6CA7 big bottle beam tetrode version of the EL34. The valve is basically a cross between a 6L6GC and an EL34 and electrically has EL34 plate voltages ratings.The JJ 6CA7 when used in place of an EL34 sonically it will give you more clean headroom which is similar to 6L6GC/6550 type of sound.
It adds the aggressive punchy midrange that we all like in and EL34 which is not present in the 6L6GC, with the 6CA7 you will get more of this than you would with a 6L6GC. The added benefit of the 6CA7 is a tighter bass and midrange response with more top end clarity over a typical 6L6GC.
This is one big powerful sounding valve and is really good choice players who need a little more clarity and definition in their sound. Metal players who want a larger sound stage and aggression and bass players who use EL34 will get a deeper and fuller sound over a standard EL34.
Eddie van Halen used the Sylvania 6CA7 in his Marshalls to great effect.
The JJ 6CA7 really does tick all the boxes and we have these in matched pairs and quads only.
