The 6201 was designed to work in the most difficult operating conditions. This valve was specially designed for long life and be shock resistant up to 500g and with a high temperature rating.
This valve being Military specification was supplied to US air force and other military forces across the world and has a very rugged construction. It has an exceptional reliability record when run hard in Government and Avionic applications. These valves were made with the highest grade materials and with no compromise on selection or quality control as they were for the American Government. These valves have a number of unique features such as high grade filament isolation so even after long periods of use the filament will not degrade. Immune to shock and vibration and were also rated for long life. To put it simply, No modern day ECC81 is made to this specification.
When you listen to these you instantly get that classic General Electric Sound stage that many audiophile prefer and the valves are very clean with excellent top end extension.
