The Sovtek 12AX7WC has become the industry standard valve that is used by many manufactures for its super low microphonics and its solid and proven reliability. The WC is the top of the line variant of the WA and WB versions. The WC version it is factory selected version used by Fender as is used as Fender standard 12AX7 and is also used by Groove Tubes 12AX7-R and is the stock valve in modern Fender amps.
The benefits of the Sovtek 12AX7WC is that it has a lower noise floor when compared to the Chinese 12AX7. The valve produces a tight clearly defined bass and a clear smooth treble response.
When run into distortion the valve produces a clear vintage style overdrive and handles boost signals from pedals extremely well with no fizziness. It also has a very solid construction with rigid anode plates so is great in combo applications. It is It is also good all round replacement for modern high gain amps.
