These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83. In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.

Many Mesa owners have commented on replacing their valves that their amps lacks bite, lack the punch and they have lost their crunch tone. They simply have lost their sound. The reason is their amps were fitted with Mesa 12AX7 Russian 2 and The 6L6GC-STR 430 or 6L6GC-STR 443.

These valves were rebranded Electro Harmonix and by refitting Electro Harmonix valves in your Mesa is the only way you will get back the Authentic bench mark Mesa Rock and Metal sound.

Our Electro Harmonix valves are specially selected for Mesa amplifiers gain selected and low microphonics and includes a balanced valve for the phase inverter position.

The output valves have also been specially selected to run with Mesas non- adjustable fixed bias arrangement. They have also been burst tested. The burst testing process involves a series of varying timed electrical signal bursts. This runs the valves under the same stress conditions that they will meet in your amplifier

The 12AX7 Electro Harmonix has the top end attack and bite that is lost with many other 12AX7. The low noise floor reduces the hiss and the valve breaks up easily with a clear musical fat distortion. This is the same valve as Mesa has used over the years labelled 12AX7 Russian 2

The 6L6GC Electro Harmonix recreates the vibrance and clarity of the Vintage USA made 6L6GC.
The EH produces a super tight deep bass response with clear transparent mids. The top end has a clear linear response and when distorted produces a warm and crunchy sonic character with authentic Mesa tone.

This valve has a warm and creamy sonic character and is excellent choice for all styles of music. The sound of this valve is preferred by many of our customers over the Chinese made 6L6GC-STR 440.

The full upgrade kit consists of 11 valves.
